Well what can I say. I'm a video game loving otaku who draws awesome (and occasionally cute/lewd) shit. Current obsession: Non-human characters

I would poke in and out of this site checking out stuff every once in a while. Watch it change. Now I guess I'll join Newgrounds (see how the community has developed...  or lack thereof) *shrug*

Pretty much did the same thing. I've looked around NG since I was a kid, but with youtube offering their animators actual money and financial stability, it seems like newgrounds is the odd man out lately.

Yeah true newgrounds hasn't ever been as commonly used as youtube. Although, youtube seems to be invoking algorithm changes that are negatively affecting animators according to this: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/ideas-commentary/is-youtube-making-it-harder-for-animators-to-make-money-102408.html

I just read it a while ago. Honestly, it seems youtube can argue their attempting to decrease profit from vines (which are like 7 second vids that can be released daily), but they are affecting the animators as well it seems. So, it seems a little iffy on both sides. Only time will tell though.

Yeah I've heard about that too, which y'know, what are you going to do. These big websites like facebook and youtube don't understand that they're not going to be the standard forever, and all it's going to take is an alternative to rival it before they bite the dust.

I really do wish places like newgrounds and deviant art were the standard; by artists for artists.
